ABOUT
The WIFTA + Moonshine 2022 Finishing Grant exists to support women filmmakers on a single project with a total run time of 30, 60, or 90 minutes intended for theatrical, streaming, web or television. These works can be mini series, features, documentaries, etc. Shorter form web series will also be accepted but may require additional negotiation.

WHO QUALIFIES
This grant is open to submission from women 18-years of age or older residing in the state of Georgia.
The grant must specifically be used for the process of completing the project discussed with the services agreed upon: either (1) color finishing when accompanied by a dailies package, and/or sound mixing and conform/mastering OR (2) 50% off color for projects already in production or in post, with optional additional discounts on conform/mastering based on production tier and scope. Final details to be discussed between recipient and Moonshine.
Applicants must own the copyright of their production, and have artistic, budgetary, and editorial control over their project.
Applicants who have not yet produced or directed their own short film should demonstrate that they will be working with an experienced filmmaker in a principal role if they cannot show a previous body of work.
Not employed full-time as a producer or director by a broadcast entity or film studio.
Applicant cannot be a previous recipient of the WIFTA + Moonshine Finishing Grant.
Moonshine and WIFTA reserve the right to assess the qualification of each applicant based on the contingencies listed above.
CRITERIA
Submitted work must, at the very least, be in the pre-production phase with the ability to provide a copy of the script (or outline, if documentary or docu-series), union signatory status, estimated total running time, estimated date of completion, and breakout of projected schedule (see example).
Individuals may only submit one application. However, an applicant may be a collaborator on other submitted works.
Moonshine reserves the right at any time during the process to disqualify a filmmaker at their discretion with no explanation. In the event that the project is prevented by force majeure, physical disability, or any cause beyond reasonable control, WIFTA and Moonshine shall be relieved of their responsibilities as outlined above. If a grantee has abandoned or delayed the proposed project beyond the deadline, Moonshine reserves the right to cancel the grant.
Grantees may not substitute a different project than the project in the application for which a grant was received. Doing so may result in the recalling of the grant. Any major changes to the nature or scope of the project must be approved in advance by Moonshine Post.
Moonshine and/or WIFTA may contact the applicant with questions about their submission.
APPLICATIONS
Applicants will submit through Google Forms. Application to Include:
- Applicant’s Name, Email, Phone Number

- List of Previous Works or Link to IMDb
- Samples of Previous Works (i.e. Link to Private Vimeo Showcase)
- Title of Submission
- Genre of Submission
- Role in the Project (i.e. Producer, Writer, Director, etc.)
- Collaborators and Their Roles
- Script (i.e. Link to Google Doc, Dropbox, etc.)
(Documentaries and/or docu-series may send outline and treatment) - Additional Support Documents (i.e. Look Book, Pitch Deck, Storyboard)
- Estimated Completion Date
- Link to Breakout of Schedule (via Google Docs, etc.)
JUDGING
Submissions will be judged collaboratively by a combined panel of WIFTA and Moonshine representatives.
FULFILLMENT
The recipient of the grant must turn over the work no later than one and a half years from the date awarded. (Currently: Late July). Exceptions to this policy, whatever the reason, must be approved in advance.
After being awarded, the recipient will have the opportunity to establish project details with Moonshine, including but not limited to: scope, timeline, services desired, quote, etc.
Moonshine and WIFTA support must be acknowledged with a logo of similar size and stature to other logos in the credits. The filmmaker is encouraged to document various stages of the project and may be asked to provide testimonials, interviews, and marketing content during and after the completion of their work. provide letters of support, evaluations, press clippings, etc. Grantees must submit an edited piece that can be used for future grant promotions and fundraising.
When marketing the release/premiere of the work, the filmmaker must include applicable social mentions (tags, hashtags, etc.) of both Moonshine and WIFTA.
