We had an awesome event at Moonshine HQ with the Georgia Script Supervisors who came by last night to join in on a really informative and engaging conversation: “Bringing Discontinuity into Continuity: The Script Supervisor – Post Production Relationship” moderated by Aleshia Mueller of Reel Nomad Productions, and featuring Moonshine’s Post Producer Caleb Wood, Dailies Supervisor James Koon, and Editor Patrick Perry.
“My whole thing about scripties is that the good ones are worth their weight in gold. I have a binder of script notes and I keep that right next to me while I’m cutting something that’s scripted,” Patrick Perry told me prior to serving as a panelist for this important conversation on what script supervisors can do to best support the post production pipeline.
How can we do better to support each other? Asking this type of question doesn’t just feel like the Moonshine way, but the overall Georgia way. And it all starts in these rooms, at these events, with this type of open conversation!
What was really cool about this dialogue was that at the end of the evening Moonshine panelists turned over the conversation and asked this amazing group of GA scripties how post could collaborate better with the script supervisors to make sure the film or episodic hit all the intended marks. The key? Communication.
It was dope to have them at HQ and put some faces to the local names we’ve been collaborating with on features, episodic series and commercials. The scripties’ curiosity and passion for their craft matched Moonshine’s own and we’re so proud to have solid partners in the Georgia Script Supervisors community. Kudos to the team and our guests, and let’s keep learning about how we can all support each other in being strong story tellers — and most of all, real collaborators.
