A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Collaborative Efforts Bringing “Black Twitter: A People's History” to Life

Hulu recently debuted “Black Twitter: A People’s History,” a mini-documentary series exploring its role in the Black community. Behind the scenes, a dedicated team embraced collaboration in post production from coast to coast.
The post production process involved multiple vendors from both the East and West coasts. Culture House handled offline editing, Moonshine did online mastering, BOOM Post Audio managed audio mixing, and ArsenalFX Color did color grading. With over 400 custom graphics, integrating these elements while maintaining a cohesive vision was a significant challenge.

One key concern was accurately representing dark skin tones. ArsenalFX Color, with Tahirah Foy, addressed this with diligence, ensuring authenticity and respect within the community.

The film premiered at SXSW on March 8, 2024 and is now streaming on Hulu. “Black Twitter” showcases the power of collaboration, storytelling, and vibrant digital communities. It highlights social media’s profound impact and the shared responsibility to harness its potential for good.
